South Korean carmaker Kia has increased sales in Europe despite a shrinking trend due to economic malaise across the continent. The company has shown an increase in sales of 12pc over the first two months of 2012 as they gain credibility in the marketplace with a growing and improved product range.

Shares in Peugeot closed up 12pc yesterday following news that the firm was in discussions about “co-operations and alliances”. Although the company declined to name who it was talking to the French labour minister suggested GM had been involved in negotiations.

Diesel Hits Record High

The price of diesel has hit a record high level according to figures compiled by Experian. The price of a litre now stands as high as 143.05 pence which is expected to have a knock on effect on the price of food. The Retail Motor Industry claims the figures are a “disaster”.
