VW Group World's Largest Car Maker

The Volkswagen Group has overtaken Toyota to become the largest car manufacturer in the world in terms of units sold. In the first nine months of this year VW Group sold 4.4m units to Toyota's 4.0m. Ford is third with 3.7 million units. The pan-european success of government scrappage schemes has contributed to VW's results with the group's Skoda brand performing particularly well.
