High Court Insurance Ruling

In a landmark ruling by the High Court yesterday drivers will now be able to defend their vehicles against so-called carjackers using specially developed LICENCED equipment.
A system developed by the US Dept of Defense for use in riot control will now be fitted to all new cars in the UK.
The device, known as Final-Option Offender Limitation passes a low-voltage current through a vehicle's outer skin whenever the ignition is switched on. Anyone attempting to enter the vehicle will receive a non-hazardous electric shock similar to touching an electric fence.
UK INSURANCE COMPANIES may require that policyholders retro-fit the system to certain high-risk cars at renewal.
