United States President Obama has announced that the US Govt. has reached an agreement with carmakers to halve vehicle fuel consumption. In an effort to reduce the country’s oil dependence it has been agreed that by 2025 cars and light trucks in the US will average 54.5 miles per gallon against today’s average 27 mpg.
