Volvo tops the league of European car makers in reducing carbon dioxide emissions. The eight largest European manufacturers cut CO2 by an average of two to six percent in 2010 but by adopting efficient DRIVe diesel engines Volvo heads the table at nine percent. CO2 emissions are a major factor in determining overall company car tax costs in the UK.
